Windows 10 doesn't currently detect the SoundMax audio card in my HP/Compaq nc6320 laptop. It installed a driver for 'high definition audio' but that didn't work, reporting that the audio service wasn't working. The trouble shooter didn't work out what the problem was either. After a lot of searching I found the answer (on this forum I think but the post was five years old and can't seem to locate it now) I installed Sound Max system and it immediately changed everything and HDA was gone and replaced by soundmax.
