Basically that the spirit and overall techniques being used to execute the music are more influenced by hip hop music and it's traditions than anything else. It's the essence and beauty of hip hop that it breaks boundaries and remakes everything anew. Now I realize this can be rather paradoxical/contradictory.but I see quite a bit of debate about whether or not DJ Shadow or particular tracks (like Midnight in a Perfect World) he does can be classified as hip hop or trip hop or whatever but I think ultimately what you can say with certainty is that the soul of his music is hip hop.if you know what I mean.

Jan 10, 2018 - By not pursuing the lead, they may have allowed the notorious Great Basin Serial Killer to get away as on July 30, 1998, nearly a year after. However, some authorities believe they are the work of one or two serial killers. Dale Wayne Eaton is a possible suspect in the Great Basin murders, including the death of Shafter Jane.

She had been shot twice—once in the back and once in the chest—and severely beaten. Then her naked body was dragged from a vehicle, posed like a cross, and left by the side of northbound I-80 at the Shafter exit in Elko County, Nevada, between Wendover and Wells. On November 16, 1993, a traveler stopping to stretch his legs discovered her decomposing body stretched out in the sagebrush. Investigators believe she was killed elsewhere and dumped at the turnoff about six days before she was discovered. Tire tracks in the vicinity point to a mid-size to large vehicle, possibly a truck or a van. Investigators nicknamed her Shafter Jane Doe (she's also known as Elko Jane Doe) for the near-ghost town she was discovered near.

Even though her body was found less than a week after her death, it had severely decomposed while lying unprotected in the desert sun. Her nose had been broken by the savage beating to her face, which made identification even more difficult. An autopsy did shed some light on who she was and what her life was like. When alive, she'd stood about 5 feet 7 inches tall and weighed approximately 140 pounds.

Investigators estimated her her age at about 27. An autopsy found that she'd probably given birth at least once. She was in the process of having a root canal on her lower right molar; she had all of her teeth including her wisdom teeth, and the medical examiner noted that her teeth were in excellent condition. A 2-inch by 4-inch mark on the back of her right calf may have been a burn scar or a birth mark. Her bright pink fingernails looked to have been professionally painted. Blood testing revealed small amounts of alcohol and marijuana in her system. The gunshot wounds to her chest and back came from a small- to medium-caliber handgun, but despite fatal wounds and a severe beating, there was no sign of sexual assault.

Determined that she'd lived much of her life in the Southwest, including Southern California, Arizona and New Mexico. She'd lived near the town of Afton, Wyo., in rural Lincoln County for at least the seven months before her body was found (approximately April through to November 1993). Some have suggested that Shafter Jane may have been a victim of a serial killer operating in the Great Basin between 1983 and 1997. During those years, at least nine women between the ages of 18 and 35 were violently assaulted and dumped along remote highways within the Great Basin, from the Rockies to the Sierra Nevada. The bodies of at least three possible victims were found posed in the shape of a cross. There isn't a lot of information online about these murders, and not all investigators believe these unsolved murders are linked.

However, some authorities believe they are the work of one or two serial killers. Dale Wayne Eaton is a possible suspect in the Great Basin murders, including the death of Shafter Jane. He is currently on death row in Wyoming for the 1988 murder of Lisa Marie Kimmell, whose body was found about four hours from Afton, where Shafter Jane was thought to have lived. Eaton is also a suspect in the disappearance of Amy Wroe Bechtel, who went missing in 1997 while jogging in the Shoshone National Forest near Lander, Wyo. Eaton is known to have been in the Elko area from 1992 to 1995, during the span of time when Shafter Jane was murdered. This case was the first one that really sucked me in.
